Summary: The room itself was nice, bed was comfortable, amenities were fine. Lots of cute shops in the area for daytime browsing. We arrived in the evening. After getting out of our truck to grab our bags, we were approached by a vagrant who would not go away. I was happy my husband was with me. I walked ahead to let him deal with this intrusive man when another younger man had attempted to approach me. I made it clear that he was to STOP! Turns out the hotel is in a common area for less than reputable citizens. The day clerk told us that she also had issues in the past but it had gotten better and she did not worry for her safety while at work. Personally I would not book this hotel as a single gal arriving alone at night. This really calls for a security staff to be on duty during check-in hours. We also booked a few days in advance. The less than friendly evening clerk was sorry to inform us that they only have one elevator and it's not working. We are on the third floor. Sorry all the other rooms were filled on first and second. I'm in my 60's but still able to walk up stairs, however not so easily. Really, I think we should have been notified or comped in some way. At this point, it's too late. Will never book there again.
